Spend a morning with the family in the lovely greenery outside Menai Library and discover all the ways the library supports sustainability. Plus a Library on the Lawn Storytime for the kids and a Plant Swap for you!
**Important! In the event of wet weather, this event will still be on! It will move within the cozy walls of Menai Library. There'll still be plenty to do, things to learn, and giveaways - so bring the family for a morning of fun!**
Are you passionate about the environment and sustainability?
Join us for the Menai Family Green Day to share this passion with your family and like-minded individuals.
For two hours, we’ll be hosting a family fun day on the lawn outside Menai Library to promote sustainability. There will be plenty to do, with a library on the lawn where kids can enjoy songs and stories in the sunshine and a plant swap where you can swap up to 10 healthy plants, cuttings or seedlings with fellow green thumbs.
You'll also have a chance to check out the Sustainability Kits you can borrow from the library, which can help you reduce energy usage and costs at home.
We’ll also welcome our friends from Sutherland Shire Bushcare and the Community Nursery, who will be giving out free native plants to take home.
Plant Swap @ 9.30am onwards: Plants can be expensive. An inexpensive way for plant lovers to expand their collection and meet like minded people by attending a plant swap. Bring along up to 10 healthy plants or cuttings to swap. We'll also have plants to give away!
Library on the Lawn @ 10.30am: Our wonderful children's librarians will entertain the kids with a special Storytime. Songs and stories for littlies under 5.
